Hit The Ground and Blossom

The Chinese believe it is bad luck to break things like vase, glass, etc. during the Chinese's festival. However, if you do you must to say 'hit the ground and blossom', to counter the misfortune into good fortune.
I reveal the future status of objects once collected as pieces of culture - historical evidence. As an Asian artist who practices Western ideologies, and being part of the Chinese community in a Muslim-majority country, my works reveal the crash, transformation and restoration between the different ideologies in our world and their influences. These works show my interpretation on how cultures being deform, transfer and restore in the digital time.
Personal vise, the country is experiencing various kind of heart breaking falls these days in terms of economy, political and even to our plane. To me, it is not the end, but a part of the cycle - blossom to fall/fall to blossom for completion. Therefore, "HIT THE GROUND AND BLOSSOM".

"Ground" is my projection of the motherland - Malaysia. I created a floating ground by filling up the swimming pool with 900 pieces of aluminium plates in Peranakan tile motif. Each plate is tightening to each other by strings; when one is being moved, the flows will form waves. At last, I bring a hope into my conclusion that all the current unstable changes happening will result a blooming of new values at the end.
